Hafiz,
Why carry a whole load of books
Upon your back
Climbing this mountain,
When tonight,
Just a few thoughts of God
Will light the holy fire.
Hafiz |
It is from God, so hear! And to God do you return! When you hear what I bring, learn! Then with understanding see
The details in the whole
And also see them as part of the whole.
Then give it to those Who seek it, and stint not.
This is the mercy that Encompasses you; so extend it.
Ibn-al-Arabi

Your hope in my heart is the rarest treasure.
Your Name on my tongue is the sweetest word. My choicest hours
Are the hours I spend with You --
O Allah, I can't live in this world
Without remembering You--
How can I endure the next world
Without seeing Your face?
I am a stranger in Your country
And lonely among Your worshippers:
This is the substance of my complaint.
Rabia al-Adawiyya |
You are more to me than my father and mother,
O Messenger of Allah!
There was once a palm tree stump on
which you used to stand
when you addressed the people.
But when the people grew in number,
you adopted a pulpit to let them all hear you.
The tree stump then mourned your separation,
until you laid your hand upon it
and it was reassured.
Still greater right has your Community
to pine for you now that
you have parted from them.
Umar ibn al-Khattab
may Allah be pleased with him |
O servant,
where dost thou seek Me?
O servant,
where dost thou seek Me?
Lo ! I am beside thee.
I am neither in temple
nor in mosque:
I am neither in Kaaba
nor in Kailash:
Neither am I in rites and ceremonies,
nor in Yoga and renunciation.
If thou art a true seeker,
thou shalt at once see Me:
thou shalt meet Me
in a moment of time.
Kabir says, ' O Sadhu !
God is the breath of all breath.'
Kabir |
The full moon rises on us
From Thaniyyatil Wadaa'
And it is compulsory on us
to express thanks
Whenever called upon by a summoner for the sake of Allah.
First Greeting for the
Seal of Prophets
peace and blessings upon him
in Medina |
When poems
were recited
before the Prophet
peace and blessings upon him,
he used to say:
"There is surely
wisdom in poetry".
Prophetic Hadith |
Whenever someone
seeks Allah’s blessings for me,
Allah returns the soul to my body
until I reply to his salutation.
Prophetic Hadith
|
He taught us for certain that You are One
and that You have neither a daughter nor son.
He taught us to be good to our mother and father
and that Paradise lies under the feet of our mother.
Muslim |
Your sweat is sweeter
than the scent of a rose.
Upon your honour,
do I compose this prose.
Aftab Malik praises the Prophet pbuh |
O Allah, bless and grant peace and blessings on our master Muhammad, the Prophet of judgement and wisdom, the radiant lamp endowed with great character, the Seal of the Messengers, Possessor of the Mi'raj, and bless his family and Companions and followers, the travellers on his straight path.
Dala'il al-Khayrat |
Is it possible to imagine anyone in this world
loving the Divinity and not becoming intoxicated with
such affection? So great a blessing is affection that
even if its possessor should stray into the wilderness,
the fire of his love would not allow him to feel the heat of
the desert.
Sheikh Muzzafer Ozak |
Now, consider and contemplate, O Most-perfect Saint, a Prophet whose body had been lost, while the memorial of his Way remained in Tradition: Called up from his tomb by night, he was led forth to his Gathering, the Living one joining with the dead -- who, then, was 'gathered up,' the Lord of the House remaining in the House, which thus was filled with life!
Ibn Arabi |
What Allah said to the Rose
And caused it to laugh in full blown beauty, He said to my heart
And made it a hundred times more beautiful. Rumi |
If someone blesses me, the angels bless him as long as he continues to bless me, so let him diminish that or increase it.
